Manoj Kumar Died: Manoj Kumar, the legendary filmmaker of Hindi cinema, was not only a great actor, but he also made an identity as a successful producer-director. Many of his films have celebrated Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee. Today, the Bollywood world has been shocked by his death. Manoj Kumar was known for patriotism and simplicity. He made a place in the hearts of people through patriotic films. Many of his stories are famous. One of these is an anecdote when he got angry with Amrita Pritam.
In 1975, a few days after the Emergency came into force, the Government of India approached Manoj Kumar. An official of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting requested him to create a documentary in support of the Emergency. The script of this film was written by famous writer Amrita Pritam. The script was also sent to Manoj Kumar, but he immediately turned down the proposal.

After this, Manoj Kumar called Amrita Pritam and asked him a direct question, “Have you sold yourself as a writer?” Amrita Pritam became embarrassed after hearing this about Manoj Kumar. He immediately apologized and asked Manoj Kumar to tear and throw the script. The incident was mentioned by senior journalist Ranjan Das Gupta in one of his articles.
After this, the government banned his film ‘Das Nambari’. This was a major setback for Manoj Kumar, but instead of giving up, he decided to fight a legal battle against the government.
Actor to fight and win a case against the government
Manoj Kumar became the first and alone Bollywood actor and producer, who fought the case against the government and won it. The result of his courage and determination was that the court gave a verdict in his favor and ‘Dus Nambari’ was allowed to release.
A similar incident is that Manoj Kumar played a small role in Raj Kapoor’s film ‘Deewana’ (1967). When the film was released, the audience praised Manoj Kumar’s acting. Once on this, Raj Kapoor jokingly said, “This boy stole my role.” Manoj Kumar described this incident as the biggest praise of his career.
