The Adani Group once again engulfed the controversies, but this time the company itself has rejected the US media report by taking over the front. In fact, America’s famous newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) claimed in a report that some companies of Adani Group have allegedly link to Iranian LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and can violate America’s sanctions.

But Adani Enterprises gave a strong reply to this, saying, “We consider this report to be completely baseless and mischievous. The Adani Group has no intention of deliberately ignoring the Iranian LPG.”

No information about American investigation

The Adani Group has also clarified that they do not know any investigation from the US officials. The company said that WSJ’s report is based on misconceptions and speculation and this news is a “effort” to damage the group’s reputation.

Nothing to do with Iranian ships or cargo

The company said that cargo or Iranian flag ships coming from Iran are not handled at any of its ports. “Our policy is absolutely clear, Iranian goods or ships are not given a place at any of our ports and we do not provide any facility related to any Iranian -owned ship.”

LPG came from Oman, full documentation present

The LPG shipment that is mentioned in the WSJ report, on the Adani Group, says it was a “routine commercial transaction”, which took place through a third-party logistic partners. According to the company, “Sohar, Oman” has been described as Port of Origin in all the documents of that shipment, that is, this goods did not come from Iran.

LPG business is less than 1.46 percent

The Adani Group also stated that the LPG trade is only 1.46 per cent of their total business and all deals in the region are fully compliant under Indian and international laws (eg American restrictions).

The company said, “We correctly do KYC and Du Diligation of every supplier to ensure that they are not included in any restricted list (such as OFAC).”

Is this again a well-planned conspiracy against Adani?

The Adani Group has already described several international reports inspired by the “political agenda”. This time too, while questioning the WSJ report, it has been clearly stated that there may be another attempt to harm the image of Indian companies internationally.
