Dhurandhar has crossed the Rs 900 crore mark at the worldwide box office in just 19 days of its release. Expressing pride in the huge success of the film, film producer, writer and director Aditya Dhar re-shared several Instagram stories praising his work.
In one such story, he also mentioned a recent video by YouTuber Dhruv Rathi, in which Rathi had described the film as “well-crafted propaganda” and said that the film is dangerous because of its attractiveness. He had compared the cinema of Dhar and director Vivek Agnihotri. Although Aditya did not directly respond to Rathi’s statements, re-sharing his story seems to be an indirect target on YouTuber Dhruv Rathi.
Aditya Dhar targeted Dhruv Rathi,
Aditya reshared several stories on Instagram, one of which read, “History is being rewritten in Indian cinema. By men and women who have passion and love for the country in their hearts. They wanted to tell a story to their countrymen. The best part about Dhurandhar’s box office success is that it is organic. All those who cried about ‘corporate booking’ in the week of its release have now suddenly fallen silent.”
The note further read, “Recently a video maker tried to criticize it and got swept away in the wave of criticism, Dhurandhar has become an obsession today. A tsunami that will sweep away every other film that comes in its path. A tsunami that will continue till 2026. It is not going to stop any time soon.”

Film maker and team praised
Praising the filmmaker and his team, the article further said, “A tsunami created by young Delhi director Aditya Dhar and his team of actors and technicians. All united in a single thought and vision, passionate about storytelling and have immense faith in this director’s work.”
Aditya Dhar has not commented on this praise, but his re-sharing of the post is being considered as an indirect response to Dhruv Rathi’s criticism.
What did Dhruv Rathi say about Dhurandhar?
Earlier, in a video discussing the film, Dhruv Rathi had said, “Well-made propaganda is more dangerous. Films like ‘The Taj Story’ and ‘The Bengal Films’ were not dangerous because they were nonsense films. But Dhurandhar is an entertaining film.”
He had expressed disappointment over repeated claims in the film that the events shown were real. He said, “It shows real footage of the 26/11 attacks. Real audio recordings of conversations between terrorists and their associates have been used. It also shows real gangsters and policemen deployed in Lyari, Pakistan.” Rathi had accused the filmmakers of mixing facts with fiction and calling it the “infallible truth”.
