The admission process for the new academic session 2026-27 in Kendriya Vidyalayas is going to start soon. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) may release the official admission notification for this year in March 2026. In such a situation, parents who want to get their children admitted in Kendriya Vidyalaya should prepare the necessary documents from now on. Method of application for admission
Admission in class 1 is done through online process, while admission in classes 2 to 12 (except class 11) is done through offline process. Student selection for classes 2 to 8 is based on priority category and offline lottery system. There is no examination of any kind in these classes.
When can the admission process start?
Last year, admission notification in Kendriya Vidyalayas was issued on March 5. The application process started from March 7 and continued till March 21. On this basis, this year also it is believed that the admission process can start in the first or second week of March 2026. How is admission done in which classes?
1. Class 1- Class 1 admission is completely online. In this, selection is done on the basis of lottery system and priority categories are kept in mind.
2. Class 2 to 8 – Admission in these classes is done through offline lottery system. No examination or test is taken.
3. Class 9 and 10 –Admission in these classes is also done through offline process.
4. Class 11 – The admission rules for Class 11 may be different and may depend on board exam scores or other criteria.

Documents required for admission
It is necessary to have some important documents to apply in Kendriya Vidyalaya. These mainly include child’s birth certificate or proof of date of birth, passport size photo of the child, Aadhar card of child and parents, residence certificate, EWS or BPL certificate, affidavit in case of single girl child, service certificate for employee parents, proof of relationship of parents with grandparents or other relatives.
How to complete the admission process?
1. First of all, go to the official website of Kendriya Vidyalaya and fill the application form.
2. After this the selection list will be released.
3. If the child’s name appears in the selection list, then submit the necessary documents to the concerned school.
4. After depositing the fees in the last stage, the child can start studies. There is no fee for applying online for Class 1.
