Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki, during his six-day visit to India, reached Deoband in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (October 11), where he was given the Sanad (degree) of Aalim. On this special occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Darul Uloom Deoband honored the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan by wearing a turban. With this, from today onwards Aamir Khan will be called Muttaki Maulana. Let us tell you that the Sanad (degree) is given to the person doing the Alim course in the last year.

According to Saharanpur Police, during his one-day visit to Deoband, Muttaki met the Ulemas, scholars and administrators of Darul Uloom Deoband. According to PTI report, Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki is likely to return to Delhi by the evening. Strict security arrangements were made for the visit of Amir Khan Muttaki. During this period, police and intelligence units were deployed. Earlier, Mufti Rehan Usmani, in-charge of Darul Uloom office, confirmed the visit and said that preparations are being made to welcome the Afghan minister. He told PTI, ‘Earlier we expected that he would stay for two days, but due to his busy schedule, the visit will be for only one day.

Met Maulana Arshad Madani

Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met Darul Uloom’s Mohtamim Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani and other senior Ulemas. Apart from this, on Sunday the Afghan Foreign Minister will go to Agra and visit the Taj Mahal. According to officials, he will leave Delhi via Yamuna Expressway around 8 am and reach there by 11 am. He will be taken to the Taj Mahal in an electric golf cart and will spend about one and a half hour there, after which he will return to Delhi in the afternoon. The Agra district administration has made special security arrangements for this high-level visit.

Muttaki on his first official visit to India

This is the first official visit of a senior minister to India after four years of Taliban coming to power. This visit is also considered important because it is taking place at a time when relations between both India and Afghanistan are tense with Pakistan, especially on issues like cross-border terrorism.
