So far 250 people have died due to the earthquake that occurred in Afghanistan on Sunday (August 31) night. While hundreds of people have been injured. The intensity of the earthquake in Kunar and Nangarhar province of Afghanistan was recorded at 6.0 on the Richter scale. At the same time, an earthquake of intensity of 6.3 also occurred.

Afghanistan’s Information Ministry said that more than 250 people were killed and 500 were injured in the earthquake in the eastern side of the country late on Sunday night. American Geological Survey (Usgs) Told that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 8 km in the east 27 km east of Jalalabad.

Due to the earthquake, people are reported to have casualty in Nur Gal, Savi, Vatpur, Manogi and Chapa Dara districts of Kunar province. The injured people have been admitted to the nearest hospital. Initial information was found that 9 people died due to earthquake, but after this the number increased to 20. Now the death toll has reached beyond 250.

Hundreds of houses have turned into debris due to earthquake. There is also news of landslide after the earthquake, due to which many people are buried under debris. The local administration has started rescue work to help the people. Nangarhar and Kunar Province are part of the Hindukush region, located at the junction of Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, due to which the region is much sensitive to earthquake.
