These works are being done from the Government Housing Fund for Capital Outlay under the Roads and Buildings Department. The orders have been issued recently and have now become public.

The opposition says that the government cites lack of money for welfare schemes, pending bills, employee dues and development projects, but is spending lakhs of rupees on the residences of ministers. In the last two weeks alone, more than Rs 1 crore has been approved for renovation at the residences of two ministers. This also includes Rs 30 lakh on the Health Minister’s bungalow.
