All incoming and outgoing flights have been stopped after a technical fault in the runway lights at Nepal’s Tribhuvan International Airport. Airport officials said that flight operations will remain closed until the problem is resolved.

According to officials, both domestic and international flights have been stopped at Nepal’s Tribhuvan International Airport due to a technical problem with the runway lights. Keeping security in mind, all the planes have been grounded.
Technical team deployed on site
Technical teams have been deployed at the airport to investigate and resolve the problem. Officials said efforts are on to restore normal flight operations as soon as possible. Airport spokesperson Renji Sherpa told ANI that there was a problem with the runway’s airfield lighting system. He said, at least five flights are on hold at present. All domestic and international arriving and departing flights are facing delays. The problem was discovered at 5:30 pm (local time).
