With both the deals, India’s trade is in favor of the country, because India exports more to both America and European Union than it imports. For this reason, these parties gave importance to making a trade deal with India. Somewhere he was forced to make a deal with India.

India-China trade balance
The case of China is different from America and Europe, because imports from China are very high and exports are very less. In fact, China’s Ambassador to India Xu Feihong announced in an event organized on the occasion of Chinese New Year on Tuesday that trade between the two countries has reached US $ 155.6 billion, which is 12 percent more than last year. The Ambassador said that this increase in trade is a clear sign of improvement in India-China relations.

Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong said that exports from India to China have increased by 9.7 percent. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has resumed, with around 20,000 Indian pilgrims participating. China has started re-issuing tourist visas for Indian citizens. Not only this, direct flights between the two countries have also been restored, which will increase the movement of people.

What did the Chinese ambassador say?
Xu Feihong said that the successful meeting of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tianjin in August 2025 gave a reset and fresh start to India-China relations. He emphasized that both the countries are allies of each other. Apart from this, the Chinese Ambassador also supported India’s BRICS chairmanship this year and said that China is ready to strengthen multilateral coordination and promote the development of the Global South through BRICS.

Despite record growth in India-China trade, some concerns remain from India’s side because of the imbalance in bilateral trade. China’s exports are much higher than India’s. The Indian side has expressed concern over the lack of adequate access to China’s markets, especially over export restrictions in critical sectors such as fertilizers, rare earths and tunnel boring machinery.

India’s trade deficit
According to some reports, India’s trade deficit will reach close to $116 billion in 2025, which is a record level. The Chinese Ambassador said that China wants to become not only the world’s factory but also the world’s market. China’s tariff level is low by international standards (7.3 percent), the negative list for foreign investment is getting shorter and the visa-free policy is expanding.
