After senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan came out of jail, Akhilesh Yadav has given him a big responsibility. Azam Khan’s name is also included among the star campaigners promoting the Grand Alliance in the Bihar Assembly elections. Actually, SP has released a list of 20 star campaigners for Bihar elections.
The names of 20 leaders including Akhilesh Yadav, wife and MP Dimple Yadav, Azam Khan, Kiranmay Nanda, Awadhesh Prasad, Babu Singh Kushwaha are in this list. Apart from this, the name of Mukhtar Ansari’s son Afzal Ansari is also in the list of campaigners.
Other campaigners include the names of Naresh Uttam Patel, Ramashankar Vidyarthi Rajbhar, Lalji Verma, Chhotalal Kharwar, Rajiv Rai, Sanatan Pandey, Laxmikant alias Pappu Nishad, MLA Tej Pratap Singh Yadav and Om Prakash Singh. SP’s cultural cell president Kashinath Yadav and cultural cell state president Dharmendra Solanki are also in the list of star campaigners.
SP did not field candidates
In Bihar, star campaigners of Akhilesh Yadav and his party will campaign for the constituent parties of the Grand Alliance. However, SP has not fielded its candidates in the elections.
It is noteworthy that in Bihar the main contest is between the BJP led NDA and the opposition grand alliance. Apart from RJD-Congress, the grand alliance includes communist parties and Mukesh Sahni’s party ‘VIP’. However, with the entry of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Swaraj Party into the fray, a triangular contest has been created.
Voting for Bihar assembly elections in two phases
Voting for the assembly elections in the state will be held in two phases. Voting will be held on 121 seats in the first phase on 6 November. A total of 1,314 candidates are in the fray in this phase. 1,690 candidates had filed nominations for 121 seats, but 315 nominations were found invalid and 61 candidates withdrew their names.
Bihar election results will come on November 14
At the same time, voting will be held in 122 constituencies of 20 districts on November 11, in which 1,302 candidates are trying their luck. 70 candidates have withdrawn their nominations in this phase. After investigation, nominations of 389 candidates were cancelled. After voting in two phases, counting of votes for Bihar Assembly elections will take place on November 14.
