India’s largest two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp is now going to enter the electric bike market through its electric brand Vida. The company has already launched Vida V1 series electric scooters, which received good response from customers. Now Hero’s next big step is to launch a new electric motorcycle Vida Ubex, the recently released teaser of which has been much talked about on social media.

Vida Ubex: Hero’s new electric roadster

  • Vida Ubex is a new electric bike from the Vida Electric Mobility division of Hero MotoCorp. According to reports, the company is preparing to present it at the EICMA Motor Show 2025 (November). It is being told that this will be a production-ready model, which will have modern features along with a powerful and sporty look. Earlier, Hero had introduced two electric concepts named Lynx and Acro, of which Lynx was an adventure e-bike, while Acro was a lightweight e-bike for beginner riders. But Vida Ubex will be completely different from these two. It will provide better performance, more range and practical features.

Design and features

  • Hero has not yet released the full picture of Vida Ubex, but the teaser has revealed a glimpse of its design. This bike will come with sporty and modern appeal. It will be provided with a single-piece seat, which will provide better riding position and comfort. USD telescopic forks will be provided at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. It will include petal disc brakes and alloy wheels which will give better braking performance. The bike will have a mid-mounted electric motor which will power the rear wheel through a belt drive system. After launch, it will directly compete with companies like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, Bajaj, Oben and Ultraviolette.

Performance and battery

  • Hero has not yet shared official information about the battery or motor of Vida Ubex, but it is expected that it will be provided with a mid-mounted electric motor of 7 to 10 kW. This bike can give a range of 150 to 180 kilometers on a single charge. The company can launch it with a fast-charging system, through which the battery can be charged up to 80% in less than 60 minutes.

How will the problems of Ola and Bajaj increase?

  • Local production of Vida Ubex will be done in India only, if the company gives it 150+ km range, premium features and good performance, then this bike can directly challenge models like Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X. The company will present Vida Ubex at EICMA 2025 (November), while its sales in India are expected to start in early 2026. According to reports, the price of this electric motorcycle can be between Rs 1.80 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
