After the arrest of Maduro, there is confusion regarding power in Venezuela, Trump gave an update, know who will run the government?

The situation in Venezuela is not clear after the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro by the US Army. The government and the army are still working, but it is not clear who is in command of the country. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Venezuela has asked Vice President Delcy Rodriguez to take over the responsibility of interim president. America has claimed that it will run Venezuela for the time being.

Military action taken at night, Maduro and wife arrested
America took military action against Venezuela early Saturday. During this, President Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were taken into custody. America says that Maduro government was involved in drug trafficking and terrorism related activities. Even before this, America had attacked drug-related bases in the Caribbean Sea and a Venezuelan port.

Maduro always denied the allegations
Maduro has consistently denied these allegations. He said that America wants to remove him from power in the name of ‘war against drugs’ and wants to take over the country’s oil. In the past several years, Maduro has remained in power despite protests, army rebellions and economic sanctions. Maduro’s sudden arrest has created an atmosphere of fear and confusion in the country. The question before the people and officials is who will now take decisions and how will the country be run.

Trump said – America will take responsibility until the situation improves
US President Donald Trump said that America will take responsibility for Venezuela until a safe and just transition is made. He said that big American oil companies will invest there, fix the broken oil system and increase the country’s income.

Talks continue with Rodriguez
Trump said that America will run Venezuela through a ‘group’. He told that Foreign Minister Marco Rubio is talking to Vice President Delsey Rodriguez. According to Trump, Rodriguez has shown willingness to work with America. Trump also commented on opposition leader Maria Corina Machado and said that she does not have the support to run the country.

Rodriguez’s answer- Maduro is the President
Delsey Rodriguez called the US action wrong and said that Maduro and his wife should be released immediately. He said, ‘The President of this country is Nicolas Maduro.’ He called it a step against international law.

It is not clear whether there will be elections or not
According to Venezuelan law, if the presidency becomes vacant, elections must be held within a month. But there is nothing clear on whether elections will be held in the current circumstances or not. Delsey Rodriguez has been the Vice President since 2018 and according to the law, the next responsibility falls on her.
