Pakistan has suffered a big loss after India’s action under Operation Sindoor. After which once again Pakistan reached the countries of the world to beg in the name of assistance. Meanwhile, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the US $ 800 million bailout package for Pakistan. Despite India’s opposition, ADB has taken this step.
India had strongly objected to any kind of assistance to Pakistan due to the history of funding terrorism. Earlier, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had also released a bailout package of about Rs 8,500 crore to Pakistan. India has also expressed serious concern over the misuse of the loan amount, citing Pakistan’s economic weakness.
Khurram Shahzad, advisor to Pakistan Finance Minister, said that under this package, a policy based loan (PBL) of US $ 300 million and US $ 500 million loan has been given to complete the Planning work (PBG) in the country. He said that the ADB has approved the US $ 800 million bailout package for Pakistan under the reform program.
According to Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune, the Pak Finance Ministry said that its objective is to raise domestic resources and stabilize the economy through financial reforms. The ministry said, “With this aid, there will be improvement in tax system, increase in revenue. This is an important step towards economic self -sufficiency.”
India says that Pakistan can use the loan from ADB and other international institutions for terrorism and military expenses rather than the development of its country. India said that even after several loans from ADB and IMF, Pakistan has repeatedly failed to implement its economic reforms.
