After the blockbuster success of ‘Dhurandhar’, speculations about Akshay Khanna’s next film have increased. Rumors are spreading that the actor has entered the fourth installment of the ‘Race’ franchise. Now producer Ramesh Taurani himself has broken his silence on these rumors and given clarification and told the whole truth.
No plans to bring back Akshay Khanna
The fourth part of the ‘Race’ franchise is currently in the works, leading to talks that Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan (both of whom were part of the original film) may reunite for the new chapter. Giving clarification on these reports, the producer told HT City, “No, we have not contacted Akshay. There was no scope for it.”
When asked if the producers were considering making changes to the story to include the actor, Taurani candidly said, “There is no thought of taking him in. In the first film, his character meets with an accident, his story ends there, and will remain there.” Let us tell you that Akshaye Khanna played the role of villain in Race (2008).
The cast of ‘Race 4’ has not been decided yet
There are also rumors that Saif Ali Khan may return in ‘Race 4’ or Sidharth Malhotra may be seen in the lead role. However, Taurani has also rejected these claims. On casting discussions, he said, “No cast has been finalized yet. And work on the script is ongoing.”
Let us tell you that in Race 2 (2013), John Abraham was cast as the villain, while in Race 3 (2018), Saif Ali Khan was replaced by Salman Khan.
