8th Pay Commission Fitment Factor Demand: Central employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the 8th Pay Commission. The hope of lakhs of employees is on the central government as to when the government will make a new announcement. The government has sought opinions from organizations and employees regarding the Eighth Pay Commission. From time to time, organizations are sending their suggestions to the government.
Today, i.e. on 25th February, a meeting of the National Council Joint Consultative Machinery i.e. National Council is also going to be held in Delhi. Due to which the demands regarding the Eighth Pay Commission will be discussed and efforts will be made to finalize it. Employees eye fitment factor and salary hike
In the discussions related to upcoming salaries, the issue of 3.25 fitment factor and 7 percent annual increment has emerged as the most prominent. Employees believe that if these proposals are approved then there can be a good increase in the basic salary. He says that this will make the salary structure more balanced. Also, in the current situation, employees will get relief from rising inflation.
In today’s meeting, the drafting committee will prepare a joint memorandum after collecting suggestions from various employee organizations. The objective of the committee is to convey all the demands to the government in a systematic manner. This joint memorandum will be submitted to 8th Pay Commission Chairperson Ranjana Prakash Desai. According to the information received, the draft will be discussed for about a week before finalizing it, so that no important issue is left out.
Main demand for increase in increment
Representatives of the Central Employees Federation believe that the government should consider annual increment. Currently there is an annual increase of 3 percent every year. The organization demands that it should be increased to 7 percent or the employees should get the benefit of increment twice a year.
Retirement related demand
Employee organizations have raised the demand to increase the leave encashment limit from 300 days to 400 days. So that those who have given long service can get more benefits. Where Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is not available.
There it has been suggested to increase the fixed medical allowance from Rs 1,000 to Rs 20,000 per month. The organization believes that the amount received at present is much less than the cost of treatment.
