In Bollywood films, the audience keeps an eye not only on the story but also on the hard work of the artists. When it comes to patriotic films, fitness, discipline and body language of the characters involved matter a lot, because it is not easy for a soldier to look believable on screen. These days the film ‘Border 2’ is in the news a lot. Actor Ahan Shetty, who is playing an important role in this film, talked about the preparations made for his character in an interview given to IANS.

Ahaan Shetty lost 5 kg weight
Speaking to IANS, Ahan Shetty said, ‘I am playing the role of a Navy officer in ‘Border 2’. For this role, I wanted a body that was strong, agile and ready for battle. To get this look I lost about 5 kg. But, this weight loss was not easy. For this, a correct diet strategy had to be adopted.

He said, ‘I chose such food in my diet, which provides full energy to the body and also strengthens the muscles. For this, more attention was paid to protein and healthy fat. Also reduce the amount of carbohydrates so that body fat can be reduced gradually. My aim was not just to look thin, but to create a body like a soldier, who looked active and ready all the time.

Ahan said, ‘Discipline was most important in this preparation. My food was decided according to the time of training and shooting. I did not take any cheat day meal during the shooting. There is no place for carelessness in a soldier’s life and I want to show this truth on screen. I believe that when the artist himself adopts that discipline, then only the truth is visible in the character.

Talk about film shooting
Regarding the experience of shooting the film, Ahan Shetty said, “Border 2 was shot at the National Defense Academy (NDA) in Pune. This place was a big learning opportunity for me. Training and shooting while living in a real military institute was physically very tiring, but mentally this experience was making me stronger. The discipline, routine and environment there proved helpful in bringing depth to my acting.

Ahan Shetty said, ‘Working at a place like this changed my way of thinking. I not only learned dialogues or actions, but also understood the mentality with which a soldier works. Let us tell you, ‘Border 2’ will be released in theaters on January 23 next year.
