Aiadmk BJP alliance: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) -led NDA alliance has ensured a majority in the Rajya Sabha without nominated members. This major change has happened a day before AIADMK coming with NDA in Tamil Nadu. This alliance of BJP and AIADMK has brought a big change in the mathematics of Rajya Sabha.
With the support of four AIADMK MPs, the strength of NDA has increased, while the opposition’s situation has become weak. The great thing is that the BJP -ruled government had introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill, then the AIADMK voted against this bill. At present, there are a total of 236 members in the Rajya Sabha, of which 9 seats are vacant. The NDA has 119 members in the Rajya Sabha, with the support of Independent MP of Haryana, Karthikeya Sharma, who won the election with the support of BJP.
How will NDA get majority?
Now with the support of four AIADMK MPs, the number of BJP -led coalitions will increase to 123. In such a situation, when the House reaches its full membership i.e. 245, the NDA will still have a majority. Apart from this, the NDA also has the support of a 6 enrolled member. All these 6 enrolled members have been appointed by the BJP and generally nominated members vote in favor of the party that sends them to the House.
With the involvement of AIADMK MPs, the effective membership of NDA will increase to 129 (combined with the numbered member). At the same time, after filling the vacant posts by the government, its number can be 134 or more. Four out of 9 vacant seats in the Rajya Sabha will be for the enrolled members, which the central government will be appointed, four from Jammu and Kashmir and one from Andhra Pradesh, where NDA is a government of TDP.
BJP has 98 members in Rajya Sabha
The BJP has 98 members in the Rajya Sabha, including two enrolled members. Other NDA colleagues are 4 members of JD (U), 3 of NCP, 2 of TDP, and Shiv Sena, AGP, PMK, RLD, RLM, Tamil Manila Congress (Mupanar), NPP, JD (S), RPI (Athawale), UPPL and MNF.
