Airspace Blockade will increase costs of Indian Pakinstan Airlines by Rs 77 Crore per week anna

Indian airlines: Indian airlines may have to bear an additional expenditure of Rs 77 crore every week for international flights operated from northern cities of the country amidst increased tension with Pakistan. Due to the prohibition on the airspace, this will happen due to increasing consumption of aviation fuel and long flight duration.

Expenditure more than Rs 306 crore

An analysis of the PTI-language about the estimated expenses, as the number of foreign flights and flight periods increased, showed that the additional monthly operating costs of the airlines could be more than Rs 306 crore. The tension between India and Pakistan has increased due to Pahalgam terror attack. Meanwhile, Pakistan said on Thursday that it would prevent Indian Airlines from using its airspace.

Time is taking more than 1.5 hours

Adopting an alternative flight route is taking an additional time of up to 1.5 hours for international flights from Delhi and North Indian cities. Due to this, consumption of aviation fuel has also increased. A senior official of the airline industry, which has widespread experience in the commercial sector, said that North America’s 16 -hour flight will now take about 1.5 hours more. This 1.5 -hour additional flight will cost around Rs 29 lakh.

Similarly, on a nine -hour flight for Europe, it will take an additional time of about 1.5 hours and the cost will increase by about 22.5 lakh rupees. The official said that in the case of flights in West Asia, the extra time will be around 45 minutes and due to this the cost will increase by about five lakh rupees.

Airlines operate more than 800 flights in the week

According to the aviation analysis firm Sirium, Indian aviation companies are going to operate more than 6,000 flights unilaterally for various international destinations in April. According to these data, Indian airlines operate more than 800 weekly flights from North Indian cities to foreign destinations including North America, Britain, Europe and West Asia.

In this way, there are more than 3,100 flights on both sides in a month, and this number is around 800 on a weekly basis. According to the analysis, the total additional monthly expenditure will be around Rs 307 crore and Rs 77 crore on weekly basis. These figures are based on coarse estimates.
