Before the arrest, Bikram Majithia shared a video on ‘X’ in which some people are visible at his house in Amritsar. Majithia said that he had already said that the Bhagwant Maan Sarkar is preparing to register a false case against him as he has not found anything against him in the drug case.
Majithia said, “Bhagwant Maan ji, understand this, no matter how many FIRs you lodge, neither I will be afraid nor your government can suppress my voice. I have always talked about the issues of Punjab and will continue to do so.
What is the matter?
The special investigation team (SIT) of the Punjab Police is investigating the 2021 drugs case against Majithia. The Akali leader was summoned several times in connection with the case and was questioned.
In March this year, the SIT claimed that it had detected ‘suspected financial transactions’ in companies associated with Majithia and their families. The SIT, who was investigating the drugs case against Majithia, then said that it had increased the scope of its investigation to detect financial transactions abroad.
