Explain that the Supreme Court has directed to release Professor Mahmudabad of Ashoka University on interim bail in connection with the alleged objectionable post. However, the Supreme Court questioned the selection of words of Ali Khan Mahmudabad of Ashoka University; Said that these words were used to humiliate others, uncomfortable.

Giving bail, the Supreme Court has prevented Ali Khan Mahmudabad from commenting on any response in future. The Supreme Court has ordered that they have to submit their passport. The Supreme Court has ordered the formation of an SIT with three IPS officers, which will also include a female officer who will be outside the state.

What is the case of Ali Khan Mahmudabad?
He was arrested on May 18, after two elements were registered against the Haryana Police, the Haryana Police, the head of the Department of Political Science of Ashoka University. He is accused that his social media posts about ‘Operation Sindoor’ threatened the sovereignty and integrity of the country. Mahmudabad was produced in a local court in Sonepat on 18 May and was sent to two days police custody in the case filed on a complaint by Haryana State Women’s Commission (HSCW) a day earlier. On Tuesday, the Sonepat court sent him to judicial custody till 27 May after the completion of the period of police custody.
