Former Samajwadi Party cabinet minister and former MLA from Amethi Gayatri Prasad Prajapati in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow jail, on Tuesday, was killed by another prisoner in which he was badly injured. However, now he is out of danger. Politics has also intensified on this matter.
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav targeted the Yogi Adityanath government of the state over the attack on Gayatri Prajapati. He demanded an inquiry into the jail attack and said that no one is safe in UP now.

The SP president wrote on X- ‘Gayatri Prajapati, former MLA and minister in the UP government, should be judged in a fair judicial inquiry into the dead attack in jail. Anywhere in UP, no one is safe. Akhilesh Yadav has demanded a high -level inquiry into the case.
Regarding this incident, SP spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand posted on X (X) and wrote- ‘The news of the attack on former minister Gayatri Prajapati in jail is worrisome, provide proper treatment to the former minister’s former minister!’
Gayatri Prajapati’s condition out of danger
Former minister Gayatri Prajapati is serving a life sentence in Lucknow jail in the gang rape case. On Tuesday, a cleaning prisoner suddenly attacked his head and made several blows. He was badly injured in this attack. After which he was sent to KGMU amidst tight security in a hurry.
Gayatri Prajapati has ten stitches in his head. Their condition is out of danger. Late in the night, his wife and SP MLA from Amethi, Maharaji Devi also arrived at the hospital to meet him. He said that when we came to know from the news that her husband was attacked, she had reached here to see her. He said that “We want the Chief Minister to give time, our husband’s life is in danger.”

Former minister Gayatri Prajapati told about this attack that the prisoner who attacked him was a vicious criminal. His name is Vishwas and he is in jail for a long time. I am glad that our lives have been saved. All this happened suddenly, we had no dispute with anyone.
Please tell that during the Akhilesh government in UP, Gayatri Prasad Prajapati was the Minister of Transport/Mining/Irrigation, he is currently lodged in Lucknow jail in the gangrape case. Gayatri Prasad has been lodged in jail since 2017 and the court sentenced him to life imprisonment in the case of gang rape in 2021.
