Fans have been waiting for Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh’s spy-thriller film ‘Alpha’ for a long time. Made under the banner of Yash Raj Films, this film was scheduled to be released on Christmas this year. However, now the release date of ‘Alpha’ has been postponed. Now this film will hit the theaters next year. The reason why the release date of ‘Alpha’ was postponed has also been revealed.
‘Alpha’ was earlier scheduled to release in theaters on December 25, 2025. But now the film will hit the theaters on April 17, 2026. ‘Alpha’ is India’s first female lead action film. This film of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh will be full of action and VFX will be used extensively in it. VFX is also the reason for postponing the release date of the film.

Time taken due to VFX
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Yash Raj Films spokesperson said- ‘Alpha is a very special film for us and we want to present it in its most cinematic form. We have realized that VFX will take a little more time than we initially estimated. We want to leave no stone unturned in making Alpha a theater experience that everyone will love. So now we will release the film on April 17, 2026.

The report further states that the team was trying to complete the film on time, but haste did not seem right in a film like ‘Alpha’. In such a situation, the makers decided to postpone the release date of the film.
Alia Bhatt’s work front
On the work front, Alia Bhatt has ‘Love and War’ apart from ‘Alpha’. Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal will be in lead roles in this film. ‘Love and War’ is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and this film will hit the theaters on August 14, 2026. Apart from this, Alia will also be seen in ‘Brahmastra- Part 2’.
