The makers of the film 120 Bahadur told the Delhi High Court that they will pay tribute to all the 120 soldiers of the Kumaon Regiment who were martyred in the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 India-China war at the end of the film. Excel Entertainment’s counsel appearing for the producers assured the court that the names of all the soldiers would be included in the credits.

Yadav soldiers had raised objection in Delhi High Court
This assurance was given in the Delhi High Court before the bench of Justice Pratibha M. Singh and Justice Shail Jain when the court was hearing a PIL. The petitioners demanded that the contribution of Yadav soldiers be given due respect in the film as 113 out of 120 soldiers in the battle of Rezang La were from the Ahir community. Taking the producers’ views on record, the court directed that soldiers should be given credit in the same manner during OTT releases also. However, as the release date of the film is nearing on November 21, the court made it clear that it is not possible to change the name of the film at this time. In the petition, there was a demand to change the name of the film to 120 Veer Ahir.

United Ahir Regiment Morcha had filed the application
This petition was filed in the Delhi High Court by an organization called United Ahir Regiment Morcha. His allegation was that by distorting the historical facts in the film, only Major Shaitan Singh, the character shown in the film named Bhati, has been presented as the hero, thereby suppressing the collective contribution of other brave soldiers. The petitioners had demanded cancellation of the Censor Board’s certificate, changing the name of the film and including the names of all the soldiers. At present, Delhi High Court has disposed of the petition after the assurance of the film producers.
