Air India Plane Crash: A major aircraft accident occurred in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Thursday (June 12, 2025). Shortly after flying from Ahmedabad Airport, an Air India plane crashed. There is a possibility of killing 242 people in this accident. After the plane crash, all flights from Ahmedabad Airport have been postponed. Explain that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a statement that 232 passengers and 10 crew members were aboard the Air India aircraft, which crashed in the residential area near Ahmedabad Airport.
The Boeing aircraft was seen coming down immediately after flying and crashed in the Meghani Nagar area near the airport at around 2 pm. Immediately after the accident, a large bubble of black smoke was seen in the area. The emergency response teams immediately reached the spot and started immediate rescue, withdrawal and fire fighting campaign. Government sources said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. The Prime Minister has asked both of them to visit Ahmedabad and provide immediate help to all the people affected by this accident.

Air India posted a post on ‘X’ and said, “Ahmedabad-London Gatwick’s flight number AI 171 crashed on 12 June 2025 today. At the moment we are finding out the details and soon we will share further information on our website as well as X handle. Police said that the aircraft crashed in Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad. An official said that many injured have been taken to the civil hospital in the city. Deputy Commissioner of Police Kanan Desai said, “We are collecting details about casualties”.
