The Trinamool Congress (TMC) of West Bengal has suffered a shock one more time. On Saturday (August 09, 2025), Lok Sabha MP Kalyan Banerjee described the party MP Mahua Moitra as ‘very poor level’ and ‘waste of time’. This statement can further increase the long -standing dispute between the two leaders. He said that because of Mahua Moitra, he has become a ‘bad person’ in the eyes of many party colleagues and now he does not consider them to be time or attention.

‘Was a mistake, who paid attention to them’
Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘He (Mahua Moitra) is not of my subject. She is of very poor level. There is no point in discussing them. Because of them I became bad for many people. It was a waste of time and energy. It was my fault to pay attention to them.

He also thanked a junior lawyer, who sent a message to him on the current dispute. He said, ‘I have a junior lawyer brother. They messaged me. He inspired me and realized that Mahua Moitra is no longer a subject for me. Now I have to do a lot of work.

Mahua Moitra has no response
There has been no response to this statement from Mahua Moitra. According to party sources, there has been a conflict between Kalyan Banerjee and Mahua Moitra several times, causing the party leadership to face discomfort. Both of them have accused each other of ignoring the standards of misbehavior and civilized dialogue.

Regret over the statement given on Mamta Banerjee
According to the NDTV report, Kalyan Banerjee also expressed grief over the statements made against party supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said, ‘I have also spoken against Didi. I think it would have been better to say not. On the question of talks with the Chief Minister on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, he said, ‘Didi blessed me. Not once, but three times.

Resignation from Chief Whip post
On July 4, Kalyan Banerjee resigned from the post of Chief Whip of Trinamool in the Lok Sabha. He had alleged that he was being convicted improperly for the lack of coordination among the MPs, while some MPs are hardly coming to Parliament. In an emotional manner, he had said that he has been deeply hurt by the party’s silence on the ‘insult’ made by a fellow MP (towards Sanket Mahua Moitra).

Controversy increased after Mamta’s meeting
The decision to resign came a few hours after the virtual meeting of party MPs chaired by Mamata Banerjee, in which she expressed displeasure over the weak coordination in the party’s parliamentary wing. However, Kalyan Banerjee says that he voluntarily resigned, but close sources say that he was considering himself as a sacrifice of sacrifice after Mahua Moitra and cricketer -turned -politician Kirti Azad.
