ICC has completely rejected the news in which it was claimed that Jio Star has refused to broadcast and live stream the T20 World Cup 2026. Recently, rumors were at their peak that Jio Star has broken the broadcasting deal midway till 2027. This means that Indian fans will not be able to easily watch the T20 World Cup 2026 matches live without any hindrance. But all these news have turned out to be false.

ICC and Jio Star have issued a statement together stating that the broadcasting deal between the two companies has not been broken and Jio Star remains the official media partner of ICC in India. All reports of Jio Star ending the deal are false.

The statement further said that Jio Star is committed to comply with all its obligations which are included in the contract. Jio Star confirmed that it will continue to broadcast the next ICC events in India, of which the T20 World Cup 2026 is also one of them. According to media reports, the deal between Jio Star and ICC will last till 2027.

What is the matter?

Recently, news came out that Jio Star has refused to telecast the T20 World Cup 2026 and the subsequent tournaments due to financial losses. It was told that Jio Star has suffered a loss of crores. It was even said that ICC has started looking for a new media partner for the T20 World Cup 2026, for which it has demanded $2.4 billion. According to rumors, Sony Sports Network, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video refused to broadcast due to high money. But all these news have turned out to be false.
