On March 8, in the final of T20 World Cup 2026, Team India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs and won the title of world champion. IPL 2026 is going to start within three weeks, the first match of which will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad (RCB vs SRH) on March 28.
The Indian team that won the T20 World Cup title included star players like Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah. Know here for which team each player of that World Cup team will play in IPL 2026.

Gujarat Titans- Washington Sundar, Mohammad Siraj
Delhi Capitals- Kuldeep Yadav, Akshar Patel
Punjab Kings- Arshdeep Singh
Only Sanju Samson’s team changed
There were a total of 15 players in the T20 World Cup-winning Indian squad, but in IPL 2026, 14 of them will be seen playing for their old team. Sanju Samson is the only player whose team has changed this time. Actually, he has left Rajasthan Royals and joined Chennai Super Kings. Samson came to CSK as part of a trade deal and in his place Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran went to the Rajasthan team.
These include Hardik Pandya, Akshar Patel and Ishan Kishan, who will captain their respective teams in IPL 2026. Hardik Pandya is the captain of Mumbai Indians and Akshar Patel is the captain of Delhi Capitals. Ishan Kishan has been made the temporary captain, because Sunrisers Hyderabad’s regular captain Pat Cummins is injured and will be out of the first few matches.
