The bench of Justices Vivek Chaudhary and Brij Raj Singh has also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on Pandey. If they are not repaid, they will have to spend 1 month in additional jail, that is, their punishment will be 7 months. The judges gave the verdict that advocate Ashok Pandey has been continuously showing contempt attitude towards the court and judicial process. Despite warning and notices on several occasions, there has been no improvement in their conduct.
The incident for which the lawyer has been punished is from August 18, 2021. On that day, lawyer Ashok Pandey appeared in the bench of Justice Rituraj Awasthi and Dinesh Kumar in normal clothes, while the lawyers have to appear in the uniform in the court. Pandey was not only in normal clothes, but his shirt buttons were also open. When the judges interrupted him, he started speaking in a loud voice. He argued with the judges in front of all the people present in the court with his clothes. It has even said that judges are ‘behaving like goons’.
