Talking about the song, Amal Malik said- ‘I was going through a breakup and was about to go on a trip, when the film’s director Shashank gave me this song. I refused at first, because I was about to go, but they asked me to work on it during the trip.

Amal Malik also told that its second part is very close to his heart. Explaining the reason for this, Amal further said- ‘This was our last meeting, we were never going to meet again. Then I wrote, give the lines of hands, meet where you are, who knows, tell me where the place is. Amal further told that singer Arijit Singh recorded this song in just 20 minutes.

Amal said- ‘Arijit Singh had to sing this song. Me and my friends were waiting to meet him in the studio. He came to the bus and recorded the song in 20 minutes and Arijit Singh received the Filmfare Award for the same 20 minutes. The film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ was directed by Shashank Khaitan. Arijit Singh received the Filmfare Award for Best Mail Singer for the film’s song ‘Roke Na Rke Naina’.
