It is also being said that sellers inject chemicals into the watermelon to make it look red and sweet quickly. In the captions and comments of the video, people are being advised to be careful and not to buy watermelon without testing it.

However, food safety experts say that scientific investigation is necessary to confirm such claims. The outer surface of watermelon can be naturally waxy, which makes it look shiny. Many fruits have a natural wax layer that protects them from moisture. Apart from this, claims of injection being used to ripen watermelon often appear on social media, but not every video reflects the reality. Adulteration or chemical use in any food item can be confirmed only through lab testing.

The claims of ripening the watermelon with artificial coating or injection shown in the video are based on allegations made on social media. No proven scientific evidence is presented in the video to support these claims.
