Giving a big blow to Pakistan, America has put its name in the list of 75 countries with immigrant visa ban. The Trump administration has decided to suspend the immigration visas of these countries from January 21, 2026. The US Embassy in Islamabad issued a statement saying that the Trump administration is focused on the safety of the American people by maintaining the highest standards of investigation and verification of visa applicants.
America told how long the visa will be banned
The US Embassy said, ‘The US State Department is temporarily stopping the process of issuing visas to all immigrant visa applicants from 75 countries, including Pakistan, from January 21, 2026. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has imposed this ban until it can be ensured that new immigrants are vetted to the maximum level and can prove their eligibility for US visas. It will also be seen that those people will not be dependent on public assistance.
The US Embassy in Pakistan said, ‘This step applies only to the issuance of immigrant visas. This does not apply to non-immigrant visas, such as those issued to tourists, students, sportspersons, skilled workers and their families.
Trump bans immigrant visas from 75 countries
The US State Department posted on social media platform X, saying, ‘The Trump administration will not issue immigrant visas for 75 countries whose immigrants abuse the welfare programs of the American people. This ban will remain in place until America ensures that new immigrants will not exploit the wealth resources of the American people.
On the suspension of immigrant visas by America, Pakistan expressed hope that the Trump administration will soon restart the immigrant visa process for its citizens. Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi said, ‘We are in touch with US officials to gather further information. We understand that this is an internal process to review US immigration policy.
