America seized a Russian-flagged oil tanker Marinera, after which there is a situation of confrontation between the two countries in the Atlantic Ocean. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that it is closely monitoring the landing of US forces on the Marinera tanker. Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Defense Affairs in Russia and Russian MP Alexey Juravlev threatened America to use nuclear weapons.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s party MP Alexey Zhuravlev said that Moscow should respond to America militarily. He asked Russia to attack with torpedoes and sink the American ship involved in the operation to capture the Marinera tanker. It can be stopped only by sinking the ships of the American Coast Guard.
Russian MP threatened nuclear attack
He cited Russia’s military doctrine, which calls for the use of nuclear weapons in the national interest. The Russian MP said, ‘America has resorted to sea robbery. This is akin to an attack on Russian territory, because the Russian national flag was hoisted on that tanker. This operation of America should be responded to immediately and harshly. Our military policy also allows the use of nuclear attack in such a situation.

Alexey Juravlev said, ‘A Russian submarine and some other Russian warships were around the Marinera tanker. The only way to stop America, which is intoxicated with its arbitrariness after the special operation in Venezuela, is to give a befitting reply by attacking it with torpedoes. According to the US, it has seized two banned oil tankers belonging to Venezuela in two consecutive operations in the North Atlantic and Caribbean Sea. One of these tankers had the Russian flag on it, which escaped after dodging the American Coast Guard.
Questions on Marinera tanker, criminal case will be filed against the crew
America has claimed to have filed a criminal case against the crew aboard Russia’s seized ship Marinera. At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement saying that it is keeping a close eye on the news of American personnel boarding the ship. The Ministry said, Russia has demanded from America to treat the Russian citizens aboard the tanker humanely and ensure full respect for their rights and send them back home as soon as possible.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote on Twitter that US authorities will file criminal charges against the crew members of the seized Marinera tanker, also known as Bella-1. He said the ship’s personnel tried hard to save the tanker, which was reportedly transporting banned oil from Venezuela and Iran.
