Us removed award on sirajuddin haqqani: A major wish of the Haqqani network, the major part of the Taliban, which occupies Afghanistan, seems to be fulfilled. According to reports, the Trump administration has removed the reward on the heads of Home Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani and its close leaders in the government of Haqqani network and the Taliban government. However, this claim has not yet been officially confirmed by the US. If this is true, it will be a major victory for the Haqqani network, as this organization has been responsible for many dreaded terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, including an attack on the Indian Embassy.

According to Afghanistan’s local news channel Tolo News, sources close to the acting Home Minister of Afghanistan have claimed that the US government has lifted the reward on some of the Islamic Emirate officials. Individuals whose prize has been removed from the heads include Sirajuddin Haqqani, Abdul Aziz Haqqani, and Yahya Haqqani. The FBI was looking for these terrorists for two decades, who are now sitting in important positions in the Taliban government.

Sirajuddin Haqqani’s name is still in the list of Most Wanted Terrorists on the FBI website. This prominent leader of the Haqqani network is considered the mastermind of many major attacks in Afghanistan.

Why is Trump administration kind of kindness on Haqqani network?
It is believed that the Trump administration wants to increase its strategic presence in Afghanistan. Apart from this, efforts are also being made to take advantage of partition in the factions running inside the Taliban. The Taliban is currently divided into two factions – one faction is being led by Hibbatullah Akhundzada, while the other faction is led by Sirajuddin Haqqani. The Trump administration signed a peace agreement with the Taliban in 2020 in Qatar, resulting in a return from Afghanistan in August 2021. However, after this, the Taliban demolished the civic government of Afghanistan and controlled the entire country.
