America has reduced the tariff on India from 25 percent to 18 percent. Shortly after talking to PM Modi, Donald Trump posted on Truth Social and informed about the agreement on trade deal between India and America. He was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that India will no longer buy oil from Russia. The US President said that India will now buy more oil from Venezuela.
Trump said, ‘It was an honor for me to talk to Prime Minister Modi of India this morning. He is one of my closest friends and a powerful and respected leader of his country. We talked about a wide range of issues, including trade and ending the Russia-Ukraine war. India has agreed to stop purchasing oil from Russia as well as buy more oil from the US and Venezuela. This will help end the ongoing war in Ukraine, in which thousands of people are dying every week.
He said, ‘Out of friendship and respect for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and with immediate effect at his request, we agreed to a trade deal between the United States and India. Under this, America will reduce the reciprocal tariff from 25 percent to 18 percent. India will also move towards reducing its tariff and non-tariff barriers against America to zero.

According to President Trump, Prime Minister Modi has also promised large-scale purchases from America under the ‘Buy American’ policy, which will include American energy, technology, agriculture, coal and other products worth more than $500 billion. Trump said that India-America relations will become stronger in the coming times and both the leaders are the ones who deliver.
