As the festival of Diwali approaches in India, people all over the world celebrate it with great enthusiasm and pomp. People in different countries enjoy this festival in different ways. A video based on this festival is going viral on social media, in which Mayor TJ Cavale of American city Morrisville is seen dancing on Salman Khan’s hit song ‘Chunari Chunari’ in a Diwali program. The event was part of Diwali celebrations organized in the spirit of North Carolina. During this, Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht and Morrisville Mayor TJ Cawley danced on Bollywood songs on the stage, after seeing which the people present there were thrilled.

Morrisville Mayor TJ Cawley wrote in a social media post, “Diwali has always been one of my favorite events. I had a lot of fun dancing on stage with Carrie and @townofmorrisvillenc staff and other elected officials. I also got to meet the Youth Leadership Award winners, performers and families at the event. Despite a little rain, we had a great time. Next Waiting for the year.”
Sharing the video on Instagram, @desibuzz.raleigh wrote, “This year’s Diwali event was truly a celebration of togetherness and cultural pride. The highlight of the evening was when Mayor Harold Weinbrecht and Mayor TJ Cawley joined forces with the Tal Harmony Dance Group to dance to Indian tunes. Their participation was more than just a dance, it was a symbol of Our local leaders embrace and celebrate diversity. Such collaborations highlight the beauty of Indian traditions, music and community spirit in North Carolina. “Occasions like these are a reminder that the true light of Diwali shines when we celebrate it as a community, across borders and backgrounds.”
