Amidst the increasing tension between Israel and Iran, India has taken steps to ensure the safety of its citizens. On Saturday, the Indian embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran started a 24-hour emergency helpline and advised Indian citizens to remain alert. Just a few hours ago, Iran had pointed 8 missiles towards Israel.
Email and call numbers issued in advisory
This advisory issued by the Indian Embassy states that in view of the current situation in the region, all Indian citizens currently living in Israel are advised to remain alert and strictly follow the security guidelines and protocols issued by the Israeli authorities and Home Front Command (oref.org.il/eng).
According to the advisory, ‘Indian citizens are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to Israel. In case of any emergency, Indian citizens can contact the 24×7 helpline of the Embassy of India. Advisory to Indian citizens to leave Iran
Earlier, on January 15, the Indian government had issued an advisory to its citizens to leave Iran. Keeping in view the security concerns amid the huge tension in Iran, a plan has been made to evacuate Indian citizens there. The flight from Tehran to New Delhi will depart on Friday 16 January.
Jammu and Kashmir Students Union has issued a statement saying that all the students have been registered. The Indian Embassy has taken his personal details and passport. The first batch has been asked to be ready at 8 am.
