Lok Sabha Ruckus: 11 women MPs of BJP have written a joint letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and expressed strong objection to the behavior of some women MPs of the opposition. In this letter, the MPs have also expressed full confidence in Speaker Om Birla. This letter has been written at a time when some opposition parties including Congress are preparing to bring a no-confidence motion against Om Birla.

This entire matter is of 4th February 2026. That day, there was a lot of uproar in the Lok Sabha during the discussion of the motion of thanks on the President’s address. Women MPs of BJP have written this letter regarding the same incident.

Said this in praise of Speaker Om Birla

In the letter, the MPs have praised Speaker Om Birla and said that he showed great patience and strength to maintain the dignity and decorum of the House that day. MPs say that whatever happened inside the House that day was very sad and shameful.

It has been alleged in the letter that some opposition MPs came into the ‘well’ of the House shouting slogans. Some MPs climbed onto the tables, tore papers and threw them at the Speaker. Not only this, some women MPs moved forward with banners and placards in their hands and reached near the Prime Minister’s seat. She also went towards the treasury bench, where senior ministers were sitting.

BJP MPs have written that she was very angry and upset by these incidents, but on the advice of her senior leaders, she controlled herself and did not take any retaliatory step. He says that if restraint was not maintained at that time, the situation could have worsened.

It has also been said in the letter that later some opposition MPs also went towards the Speaker’s chamber and loud noises were heard from there. The MPs have written that such incidents in the sacred premises of the Lok Sabha are a matter of great concern and could have made the situation much worse. He has described these incidents as one of the darkest moments in the history of parliamentary democracy.

Women MPs made this demand from the Speaker

Women MPs of BJP have demanded from the Speaker that as per the rules, strictest action should be taken against those opposition MPs who broke discipline and misbehaved inside the House. He says that such work harms the image of democratic institutions.

At the end of the letter, the MPs have also praised Om Birla’s work so far. He has written that in the last seven years, as Speaker, he has tried to improve the dignity and functioning of the House and has given all the members an opportunity to speak without discrimination. The MPs have said that they have full confidence in the leadership of Om Birla and the Lok Sabha is moving forward under his guidance.
