Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit back at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s demand for a ban on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He said that RSS has given the country two very popular Prime Ministers.
Amit Shah said that he (Kharge) did not give any reason for this. We all know that RSS is an organization which has inspired lakhs of youth like me to improve the country. It has established the values of patriotism and discipline and we should also see that two people from RSS have become the Prime Minister of this country and perhaps both of them (Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi) will be considered as one of the best Prime Ministers of this country.
‘I understand their intentions’
In a program of NDTV, Amit Shah said on Saturday (November 1) that the contribution of RSS is huge in showing the right direction to the society in the development of the country and in gathering the people of the country and in taking the youth forward not only for themselves but for the country. I understand their intention, but it will never be fulfilled.
What did Mallikarjun Kharge say?
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday said that if Prime Minister Modi respects the ideas of India’s first Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel then he should ban the RSS. The Congress President alleged, ‘These are my personal views and I openly say that there should be a ban on it (RSS). If the Prime Minister respects the ideas of Vallabhbhai Patel then this should be done. All the mistakes in the country and all the law and order problems here are the contribution of BJP and RSS.
This comment of the Congress President came after Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress of not properly following the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Prime Minister Modi had targeted the Congress at the National Unity Day program in Kevadiya, Gujarat.
