Sharat was also interviewed for the only vacancy in the junior men selection panel and before next year’s Under-19 World Cup, he is likely to be selected as the chairman of the committee in place of Tilak Naidu. Sharat was the chief selector when India won the 2022 Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in the West Indies.

In the context of women selectors, IANS has come to know that Amita Sharma, Shravanathi Naidu, Anagha Deshpande and Diana David were interviewed. It is also learned that former Indian players and coaches Purnima Rao, Mamta Maben, Rajni Venugopal and Bindeshwari Goyal are also included in the list of applicants.

Information about whether his interviews were held on Thursday or not could not be found. Former Indian captain Anjum Chopra was also discussed to apply to make a place in the women’s selection panel, but later sources confirmed that they had not applied.

The two -member CAC will submit its recommendations to the BCCI, in which the last names of the successful applications will be approved during the annual general meeting (AGM) at the headquarters in Mumbai on 28 September. Election of new officials will also be held on this day.
