Iran has rejected American allegations. America had alleged that Iran was preparing to attack American targets. On the contrary, Iran has blamed America. Iran said that America is trying to increase tension in West Asia. This claim has been reported by government channel Press TV.
According to news agency ANI, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bagai has issued a statement on Saturday. The US State Department, in a post written in Persian language on Twitter, had claimed that it has received reports which show that Iran is working on options to target some US targets.
‘These statements and claims are being made to incite tension in the area’
Bagai, quoted by the government channel, has said that these statements and claims are in line with the current policy of the United States to incite tension in the region. Bagai also said that the Iranian Armed Forces are focusing on maintaining and enhancing the country’s military and defense capabilities to protect Iran’s sovereignty. It has been said from their side not to play with the security of the country in any way.
Nationwide protests started in December 2025
Thousands of people have lost their lives in the nationwide protests that began in Iran in late December 2025. On Saturday, the supreme leader there admitted in a speech given on TV on January 17 that several thousand people have been killed. He has termed some deaths as inhuman and cruel. Also, America and foreign forces are considered to be the reason for this.

Khamenei said in his speech that America conspired to cause protests and Trump himself intervened. Trump encouraged the protesters and promised military support. He said that America’s goal is to swallow Iran. Trump is a criminal. He said that the criminals will be punished. The Iranian nation has crushed the conspiracy.
