Congress Leader Anand Sharma: Congress leader Anand Sharma has raised a strong question on the foreign policy of the central government. He said that India’s foreign policy has been scattered, due to which India’s global influence is decreasing. He warned that India would have to talk very carefully with its neighboring countries.
Questions raised on silence on Gaza
Anand Sharma described India’s silence on the events happening in Gaza as shocking. He said that many countries were hoping that India would say something on this. Sharma said, ‘After the attack of Hamas, the way the people of Palestine were attacked, massacred and there was a situation of starvation, it is condemnable.’
He asked that when India has relations with both countries, Israel and Palestine, why did India not say anything to stop attacks from Israel?
Demand for caution on trade deal from America
Sharma said that a trade deal should not be done with America under any pressure. He expressed concern especially about agriculture and dairy sector and said that these areas are sensitive to India and they cannot be opened immediately. In the upcoming Parliament session, the Congress will raise this issue and seek clarification from the government regarding the trade deal.
Trump refuses to comment on Pakistan’s tour
On the question asked about Donald Trump’s visit to Pakistan, Anand Sharma said that ‘I can say what I can say on the White House or the Government of India. Anand Sharma further said that the moral and human power of India’s foreign policy is no longer the same. He said, ‘India led the Non -Aligned Movement, played a leading role in the struggles of apartheid and freedom. The world looked at India during the Korea crisis in the 1950s.
He said, ‘Our power was the voice of morality and humanity, but the present government has weakened it. Many unilateral decisions have been taken, which are contrary to our diplomacy and national interest.
Foreign policy should be discussed in Parliament
Sharma appealed to the government to self -consciousness and consider with the big leaders of the country. He said that there should be a detailed debate on foreign policy during the upcoming Parliament session.
Significantly, Anand Sharma was a member of the all-party delegation led by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SCP) MP Supriya Sule, who visited Qatar, Egypt, Ethiopia and South Africa to expose Pakistan.
