Andhra pradesh working hours: The Andhra Pradesh government has approved major changes in labor laws for employees working in private sectors. According to these changes, now employees will have to work 10 hours daily, which was 9 hours before. This new rule has been implemented under the ‘Andhra Pradesh Factory Act’ and the state cabinet has given permission.
Earlier, there was a limit to work for the employees daily for a maximum of 8 hours, which was increased to 9 hours ago. Now it has been increased to 10 hours under section 54. Along with this, Section 55 has also been amended. The first five hours of half -hour break after work was mandatory, which has now been changed to a break of one hour after six hours.
Changes in the maximum limit of overtime
Apart from this, the maximum limit of overtime has also been changed. Earlier it was 75 hours, which has now been increased to 144 hours. State Information and Public Relations Minister K.K. Parthasaradhi said that these changes are part of the government’s “Ease of Doing Business” policy. He says that due to some relaxation of the rules, more investment will come in Andhra Pradesh and it will be easy to do business.
Labor unions opposed this decision
On the other hand, the labor unions have opposed this decision. He says that due to the new rules, the factory owners can get the laborers done more than the scheduled time, that is, two hours of additional work. With this, employees may have to do 12 hours or more work daily, which can affect their health and personal life.
