The Pakistan Cricket Board has continuously targeted Andy Picroft. After the ‘Handshek controversy’ in the India-Pakistan match, his name has jumped a lot, even PCB had complained to the International Cricket Council of Andy Paiyoft. But who is Andy Picroft (who is Andy Pycroft) and why is there so much dispute about them?
The case is related to the India-Pakistan match, which was played on 14 September. Actually, the Indian team did not join hands with Pakistani players after winning by 7 wickets. At the same time, at the time of the toss, both team captain Salman Aga and Suryakumar Yadav did not join hands.
In the complaint lodged in the ICC, the PCB said that he was Andy Pay Croft, who refused Salman Aga to join hands with the Indian captain. For this reason, the Pakistan Cricket Board demanded him to be removed from the match referee panel of the Asia Cup.
Who is Andy Paiyoft?
Andy Picroft has been a former cricketer of Zimbabwe. His international cricket career could not last long, in which he played only 3 Tests and 20 ODIs. He scored 447 runs in his international career. He was the head coach of Zimbabwe’s national cricket team for some time, but left the post of Head Coach during the 2003 World Cup due to the controversy over the selection of the players.
Paiyoft is one of the most experienced match referees in the cricket world today. Since 2009, he has worked as a match referee in 103 Tests. He also has a special connection with India, as he made his Test debut against India in 1992, where he scored 39 runs and 46 runs in both innings respectively.
