The acting of both is appreciated even today. Also, many actors like Waheeda Rehman, Ila Arun and Anupam Kher are in important roles in the film.

What is the story of the film?
If we look at the story of the film, Viren (Anil Kapoor), who lives amidst the sands and palaces of Rajasthan, is in love with Pallavi (Sridevi) since childhood. But he is unable to tell her. Pallavi gets married somewhere else. Shortly after the marriage, both Pallavi and her husband lose their lives in a car accident.
His younger daughter Pooja alone survives. Many years pass and the story takes a new turn. Pallavi’s image is visible in the puja. Pooja falls in love with Viren but Viren runs away from her and the story progresses beautifully.
