Just before the tour of England, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been surprised by former India captain and great spinner Anil Kumble for the silence from Test cricket. Kumble believes that both these senior batsmen should have got farewell on the field.
Kohli retired from Test cricket on Monday. He scored 9230 runs in 123 Tests at an average of 46.85. It included 30 centuries and seven double centuries. King Kohli was the fourth highest run -scorer for India in the Test.
Earlier on Thursday, Rohit said goodbye to Test cricket.

Kumble, who took the most 619 Test wickets for India, said that this status players should get a chance to leave in front of the fans. He said, “They have gone very silently. Every player should take off according to his own, but we had said this even during the retirement of R Ashwin. In the middle of the series he announced his retirement and returned to India from Australia.”
He further said, “I think these three (Rohit, Virat and Ashwin) should have bid farewell to the field. I believe that the authorities should think about it. I know that this is the era of social media and the fans would want to see them in front of them.”
The Indian team has to visit England five Tests from June 20. Kumble said that Kohli could play an important role on this challenging tour. He said, “Rohit has retired and has been captain for a long time. Virat has been India’s most successful Test captain. One of these should have been on that tour. England tour will be difficult.”
