Elections are going to be held in Bangladesh on 12 February 2026, but before that there has been no reduction in violence against Hindus. 48 hours before the general elections in Bangladesh, another Hindu businessman was murdered in Trishal Upazila of Mymensingh district. The deceased has been identified as Sushen Chandra Sarkar, 62, a student of M.S. in Trishal. The brothers used to run a business named Bhai Enterprises. The family of the deceased alleged that the miscreants also looted several lakh Bangladeshi Taka.
Hindu businessman killed by closing the shutter of his shop
Bangladeshi media outlet ITV quoted the victim’s family and police as saying, ‘The miscreants hacked Sarkar to death with a sharp weapon at the Bogar Bazaar intersection in the upazila, closed the shutter of the shop and left him inside. Later the family members saw him in a pool of blood and took him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
Sujan Sarkar, son of the deceased, said, ‘No one had any enmity with us. After brutally killing my father, the miscreants looted several lakhs of rupees from the shop. Our rice business was running for a long time. We demand strict punishment for these murderers.
Hindu businessman found soaked in blood: Police
Police said, ‘The miscreants attacked him (Sushen Chandra Sarkar) with a sharp weapon and killed him at around 11 pm and then closed the shutter of the shop. During the search, the family members opened the shutter and found him soaked in blood. Later, after receiving information, the police inspected the spot. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
