Bollywood actor Anu Kapoor is going to celebrate his birthday tomorrow i.e. on 20th February. Anu Kapoor is not only an actor but also a singer, director, radio jockey and TV presenter. At the age of 70, he has worked in this industry for almost 40 years and has won the hearts of the audience with different roles. Till now he has worked in more than 100 films, which include great films like Jolly LLB, Dream Girl, Shaukeen, Vicky Donor and Dharam Sankat Mein. These films have not only given him recognition but also the love of crores of people.
Came to Mumbai with Rs 419
Anu Kapoor was born in an ordinary family on 20 February 1956 in Bhopal. Anu Kapoor, who spread his magic in the world of acting, did not want to become an actor. His dream was to become an IAS officer, but fate had other plans. When he came to Mumbai after completing his studies, he had only Rs 419 and 25 paise in his pocket. Anu Kapoor herself gave this information in the year 2020 and shared a picture on Instagram.
Got my first chance in 1983
In an interview, Anu Kapoor, remembering her days of struggle, had said that to earn her living, she opened a tea shop and sold pakodas. After so many ups and downs and difficulties in life, he was never afraid of struggle because he always felt that someone’s hard work and his qualities cannot remain hidden for long. When he played the role of a 70-year-old man in a play, it proved to be a new turning point for him. It was in this play that he was seen by director Shyam Benegal, after which he got the 1983 film ‘Mandi’. His role in this film was very small, yet he was praised a lot and from here he started getting opportunities.
