In a special conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Anupam Kher told the story of his marriage. He said, ‘I was not married, Kiran was married and we were good friends for 12 years. She was my senior in college. When we were strugglers, Satish Kaushik and I would often go to Kiran and Gautam’s house for dinner and she would give us Rs 50 for a taxi, but we would add that money and travel by bus.
How did friendship turn into love?
Anupam told, ‘When she was going through a difficult phase in her marriage and I too had a breakup, when a girl had cheated on me, Kiran and I fell in love and we got married.’ When Anupam Kher was asked what he likes best about his wife Kirron Kher, he said, “She is a very honest person, cool, beautiful, caring and her being is very strong. We were good friends and that friendship turned into love and then turned into marriage.”
