After the news of closure of ‘Apne 2’, fans of late Dharmendra were disappointed. However, producer Deepak Mukut has dismissed the rumors of ‘Apne 2’ being shelved and confirmed that work on the film is going on and it will be made as a heartfelt tribute to the great actor.

The original film ‘Apne’, starring Dharmendra and his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, is back in the news after the veteran actor’s demise. The film held a deep emotional significance for him, and now the team is hoping to honor his legacy by going ahead with the sequel with a renewed commitment.

Commenting on the rumours, Deepak Mukut said in an official statement as quoted by Times Now, “People need to stop spreading unconfirmed rumours. ‘Apne 2’ is not closed. The film is being made, and is being made with full confidence. This is one of the most emotionally important projects undertaken by our banner.”

Dharmendra passes away
Dharmendra passed away on November 24 and left behind a unique legacy. Almost the entire film industry had gathered to pay tribute to him at his funeral. On Thursday, November 27, the Deol family organized a prayer meet for the late actor which was attended by many celebs from Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai to Salman Khan.
