Apostolic church Pakistan: On Wednesday (July 9, 2025), the President of the Apostolic Church Pakistan, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) president wrote a letter to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who has accused PPP leaders of harassing Christian families.
The letter wrote, “A false FIR (No. 359/2025, PS Clifton, Karachi) was filed against my sons Matthew Marcus and Johnathan, in which he was accused of fraud up to Rs 32 lakh and the theft of Toyota Corolla (BRK-373), which is a legally registered vehicle named after us.”
What allegations did the president of the Apostolic Church Pakistan make?
He wrote, “When we turned to the court for justice, we were attacked instead of getting security. General Secretary and Advocate Zahid Hussain Sumro of the People’s Lawyers Forum of South Karachi, along with more than 20 lawyers, assaulted me and my sons in the court premises. We were threatened that we were threatened that next time you will come to the court, we will break your legs.”
‘Atrocities being done due to being a minority’
The president of the Apostolic Church Pakistan said, “We were beaten, insulted and forced to escape. The police was present there, but did not come to save us. We immediately informed the judge who instructed us to file an application. Although no action has been taken till date and my sons are still in jail. The attack was not only physical, but it was also an attack on our dignity, humanity and justice system.” He insisted, “Despite our loyalty towards Pakistan and our continuous prayers for national peace, we are being treated as if we have no right because of being a minority.”
